Presentation Abstract
The Honeynet Project captures and studies the nature of malicious VOIP activity on the Internet, with a view to sharing these learnings to improve our understanding of the threat landscape.
This presentation will look at the outputs of this work, and the broader context of VOIP security threats including the following:
- A primer on VOIP protocols
- Why are hackers going after VOIP servers
- How are they compromising VOIP servers?
- Case studies of large Frauds involving VOIP compromises
- Case study of currently active botnet that is involved in VOIP scanning
